Japanese beer imports in January reached $2,004,000, up 314.9 percent on year, according to data from the Korea Customs Service on Tuesday. The figure is the highest in three and a half years since a trade dispute between Korea and Japan began in July 2019 when Japan slapped controls on exports of key materials for semiconductors and displays to Korea.
