Do-a and Yeonje of Alice will take a break from activities due to health concerns, announced the girl group's agency IOK Company on Monday.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our fans for the continued support toward Alice, and we would like to inform you about members Do-a and Yeonje's health condition and future activities,” the agency’s statement of the girl group's official fan cafe reads.

“Do-a and Yeonje recently had a visit to the doctors over concerns of their recent health issues and have been told by the doctors that they need time to rest,”

“After deep discussions with the artists, the members will take a break and focus on their recovery,” the agency added.

The announcement ended with an apology to fans and a promise that the girl group will continue its activities as a five-member group from now on until further notice is provided by the agency.

Girl group Alice debuted in 2017 as a five-member group with Do-a, Yeonje, Yukyung, Sohee and Karin. The group was originally named Elris and was under the agency Hunus entertainment. The group’s name was an abbreviation for “Excellent Lovely Rainbow Innocent Sister.” The group introduced two new members, Chaejeong and EJ in 2020 and changed its group name to Alice two years later, to mark the group’s new start under its new agency IOK Company.
