Suga from the boy band BTS donated 100 million won ($75,000) to the nongovernmental organization (NGO) Save the Children on Thursday, his birthday, to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and northern Syria.

“Too many children and families have been affected. I send my thoughts to all the survivors and the victims,” Suga said.

The donation will be used to purchase relief supplies for children, including blankets and mattresses, according to the NGO.

For his birthday last year, Suga donated 100 million won to help the victims and support the recovery from the wildfire on the east coast of Korea. He also donated the same amount in 2021 to Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center, located in Suga’s hometown Daegu, to help support patients with childhood cancer.

Suga will embark on his first solo tour, “Agust D Tour” starting in the United States in April. He will also visit multiple Asian cities in May and June and will hold concerts in Seoul at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium located in Songpa District, southern Seoul, on June 24 and 25.
