North Korea fires short-range missile into West Sea: JCS

North Korea fired a single short-range ballistic missile from Nampo into the West Sea, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff on Thursday.
 
The South Korean military detected the launch at around 6:20 p.m. 
  
The launch comes ahead of the South Korean and U.S. militaries' joint exercise Freedom Shield, scheduled to begin March 13.
