Korean Air Lines announces expanded flight schedule to China
Korean Air Lines is increasing its flights to China sevenfold as Korea no longer requires travelers from China to take a Covid-19 test before entering the country.
The airline said Friday it will gradually raise flights to China to 99 times weekly from the current 13. It will be increased to 84 times starting from the end of March, and to 99 from May.
That is around 43 percent of its total routes in 2019.
Starting from March 19, Korean Air will have four Incheon-Beijing flights per week, from the current zero. That will be increased to seven per week starting on March 26, and eight from May 1.
Incheon-Xi'an routes will also be resumed to two flights per week starting from March 17, and seven from May 1.
There will also be seven Incheon-Shanghai routes starting on March 19 from the current 2, and 14 starting from March 26.
The routes of Incheon to Guangzhou will be raised from two to seven from March 26.
Jin Air, a budget carrier 55 percent owned by Korean Air, will also resume its flights from Jeju to Xi'an and Shanghai.
There will be one Jeju-Xi'an flight per week starting on March 16, and two from March 26.
Jeju-to-Shanghai routes will resume on March 26 at seven times per week.
