Ex-president Chun Doo Hwan's grandson Chun Woo-won said he left the hospital Friday, a week after a drug-using broadcast ruckus.
Chun said in an Instagram post on Friday that "God has saved a wretch like me again." He had been hospitalized on March 16 after passing out while livestreaming himself using drugs on YouTube.
According to Chun, he fainted shortly after authorities came to his house on March 16. His said his lungs had stopped and his airway was blocked for more than three hours, before being saved by an intubation procedure.
"I woke up on Friday [March 17] with tubes in my throat and bruises everywhere on my body," Chun said. He was involuntarily hospitalized until this Friday.
The former president's grandson also apologized for using drugs and showing signs of hallucination, saying he's sincerely sorry for causing trouble through his irresponsible actions and vowing never to repeat them.
"My fear took control over me, stemming from a lack of faith in God," he said, going on to say that he appreciates everyone's heartwarming support, love and care.
He wrote on Twitter that he will stream another live broadcast later on Friday.
Chun had been posting photos and videos of his family and acquaintances on Instagram from March 13, accusing them of illegally amassing wealth, using drugs and committing sex crimes.
All of these revelation posts are currently removed from his feed.
