NCT DoJaeJung subunit to debut next month with EP 'Perfume'

NCT DoJaeJung, boy band NCT’s new subunit, will make its debut on April 17 with the EP “Perfume,” SM Entertainment announced Monday.

With a total of six tracks, including the lead track also named “Perfume,” the album will feature “tracks in different genres themed around love,” according to the press release.

“The unit will provide different musical colors from NCT,” it added.

The subunit, so named by first syllable of each member’s name — Doyoung, Jaehyun and Jungwoo — has been active as a trio in the boy band for multiple years before their official debut.

DoJaeJung performed the unreleased track “Can We Go Back” during NCT 127’s concert “Neo City: Seoul – The Link +” last October. The trio also released a “Christmas Carol Medley” on YouTube on Christmas last year.

Consisting of a total of 23 members, boy band NCT made its debut in 2016. The 23 members are divided into different sub-groups and subunits: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT Tokyo. Doyoung debuted under NCT U in 2016, then in NCT 127 in 2017; Jaehyun in 2016 in both NCT U and NCT 127; and Jungwoo debuted in 2018 in NCT U and NCT 127.
