Actor Yoo Ah-in, who was summoned by police on Monday over allegations of illegal drug use, walked out of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in western Seoul at around 9:20 p.m., after 12 hours of questioning.
“I told the truth as far as I could tell. I am hesitant to tell you everything as the investigation is still ongoing, but personally, I think I’ve fallen into a swamp of self-justification that my deviant behaviors won’t harm anyone,” Yoo said in front of the local media.
“I apologize to the fans who supported me, whom I let down with my disappointing behaviors.”
Yoo also apologized for not making any comments earlier in the day and added that “though it may be uncomfortable for some to see me like this, I want to take this as an opportunity to live a healthier life that I haven’t lived before.”
Yoo entered the police station at 9.20 a.m. without answering any questions from local media.
On Feb. 5, the police enforced a search and seizure warrant on the actor at Incheon International Airport and conducted a urine test. He tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol, the main constituent of marijuana. More detailed drug screening results given to the police in March showed that the actor also tested positive for propofol.
