One of the two Kazakhstanis who fled Incheon International Airport after being denied entry into the country was found in Daejeon on Sunday night.

According to the Incheon International Airport Police, a 21-year-old man from Kazakhstan is currently being investigated for violating the Immigration Act after being found in front of a convenience store located in Gayang-dong in Daejeon's Dong District, at around 9:40 p.m. on Sunday.

A 19-year-old Kazakhstani, another fugitive who escaped the airport, is still being tracked down.

Police were able to find the 21-year-old Kazakhstani in Daejeon after tracking his movements and location through CCTV footage.

The pair is accused of climbing over a fence near the airport’s runway at around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday and escaping the airport while waiting for their flight back home.

They were originally set to be forcibly repatriated to their home country on Sunday afternoon after being denied entry into Korea on Friday morning, due to their unclear purpose of visiting the country.

After being denied entry, they were sent to a waiting room at the airport’s Terminal 2 for their flight back home, which they stayed at until their escape Sunday. They broke the airport's glass window to flee the building.

Police said it will “investigate the property damage that occurred during the flee” and "find the other fugitive as soon as possible.”
