aespa to release 'Hold on Tight' for soundtrack of 'Tetris' Apple Original film

Girl group aespa will release "Hold on Tight" as a part of the soundtrack for the Apple Original film "Tetris" (2023) on March 31, its agency SM Entertainment announced Wednesday.

"'Hold on Tight' is a techno track based on the game Tetris' background music, mixed with aespa's vocals," explained the agency.

Tracks by British electronic duo Pet Shop Boys, Swedish heavy metal rock band Europe and British composer Lorne Balfe will also be included in the film's soundtrack.

"Tetris," planned to release on Apple's streaming service Apple TV+ also on March 31, is a film based on the legal battles to secure the rights to the popular video game Tetris.

The aespa quartet debuted in November 2020 with four members: Giselle, Karina, Ningning and Winter. The group is best known for its hit songs “Black Mamba” (2020), “Next Level” (2021) and “Girls” (2022). The girl group will be back with a new album in May, according to the agency on March 16.
