A Boeing executive discussed possible joint aircraft development with the Korean government in Seoul, Thursday.
Mike Sinnett, vice president and general manager of product development for Boeing’s commercial airplanes, met with Jang Young-jin, the first vice minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, on Thursday in Yeouido, western Seoul.
The meeting was aimed at seeking measures to bolster collaboration between Boeing and Korean companies amid uncertainties in the aerospace industry, triggered by the war in Ukraine and the lingering impact of the Covid pandemic, according to the Industry Ministry.
Boeing has been running a research center in Korea, the Boeing Korea Engineering and Technology Center, since 2019, and plans to expand it into one of its major R&D facilities centered on software and semiconductor technologies.
Boeing will hold a forum in Busan on April 3 to discuss possible business cooperation with Korean suppliers.
