Korean Air Lines announced a list of activities to support Busan's bid to host the World Expo in 2030.

Korean Air Lines is helping with ticket reservations and shipping for the inspection team of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), which will visit Busan from Tuesday to Friday.

The airline is screening Busan’s promotional video on airplanes and at the lounge of Incheon International Airport, as well as publishing articles about how the country is ramping up its bidding effort to bring the World Expo to Busan in its magazine, Morning Calm.

The airline is also promoting the bid with its professional volleyball team Incheon Korean Air Jumbos. Volleyball fans who visit the team’s home arena at Gyeyang Gymnasium in Incheon for the 2023 V League Championship can view the promotional video on LED displays from Thursday.

Busan is competing with Rome, Riyadh and Odesa to host the expo in 2030. The host country will be decided by a vote of 170 BIE member countries in November during a general assembly in Paris.

The BIE delegation visited Riyadh from March 6 to 10 and visited Odesa from March 20 to Friday before arriving in Busan. The last city that the team will visit is Rome, 10 days after leaving Busan.
