A surveillance camera capured a woman being forced into a car in front of an apartment complex in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul on Wednesday. She was found dead near a dam that is 13 kilometers south of Seoul. All three suspects have been arrested on Friday. [JOONGANG ILBO]
Three murder suspects were arrested Friday while the police located the body.
Two men were reported to have forced a woman into a vehicle after violently beating her in front of an apartment complex in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam, southern Seoul near midnight on Wednesday.
The woman, according to witnesses, shouted for help.
A surveillance camera caught the kidnapping.
The suspects were said to have confessed to dumping her body near Daecheong Dam in Daejeon, 13 kilometers south of Seoul.
The woman's body was found near the dam.
No comments have been made about possible motives.
The family reported the woman as missing on Thursday after she failed to show up for work or return home.
The police found the vehicle on Thursday in Cheongju, 112 kilometers from Seoul, and found traces of blood along with a pickaxe, a shovel, a cable tie and tape.
One of the suspects was caught by the police on Friday morning at Moran subway station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, 35 hours after her family reported the woman as missing.
Another was arrested at 1:15 p.m. nearby, and the last suspect was arrested at 5:40 p.m. in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam.
