Wildfire breaks out on Seoul's Mount Inwang

A fire has broken out on Mount Inwang in Jongno District, central Seoul on Sunday.
According to fire authorities, the fire started on the mountain at around 11:54 a.m. and is spreading in a northward direction due to the wind.
Some 35 fire trucks and 132 firefighters were dispatched to the scene after authorities declared a level 1 fire response alert at 12:29 p.m.
The fire response alert was raised to level 2 at around 12:51 p.m., where it currently remains.
Seodaemun District Office sent out a public safety alert at around 1:43 p.m., alerting those living in Gaemi Village and apartments near Hongje-dong in northwestern Seoul to evacuate.
