Nmixx landed on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the first time for the girl group.

Nmixx’s first EP “expérgo” ranked No. 122 on the Billboard Chart on the week of April 8 according to the U.S. based music service on Tuesday.

“We always dreamed of putting our names on the Billboard chart, so we are honored and yet we find it hard to believe such achievement,” said the members in a press release.

“We are happy to chart on the Billboard 200 chart, following the path paved by senior groups at the agency.”

JYP Entertainment’s girl group ITZY most recently entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at No. 8 in July with its fifth EP “Checkmate.”

“We think the mixxpop genre has started to penetrate into people’s minds,” added the members.

Mixxpop is the girl group’s own approach to merging different genres and styles of music. Nmixx’s previous releases, “O.O” (2022) and “Dice” (2022), both saw commercial success in terms of CD sales but received mixed receptions from the general public, with reviews ranging from “song sounds unstable,” “convoluted song structure,” to “fresh and addictive," according to fan comments on music streaming site Melon.

Nmixx’s latest lead track, “Love Me Like This,” is a “more laid-back approach to the mixxpop genre” and “more easily approached by the general public,” according to member Lily during the press showcase in March.

Nmixx debuted in February last year under JYP Entertainment. The girl group is being managed by the agency’s newly formed sub-division SQU4D. The girl group debuted as a seven-member girl group with Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jinni, Jiwoo and Kyujin. Jinni left the group in December 2022 due to “personal reasons.” “expérgo” was the girl group’s first album with six-members.
