Kurly, operator of the Market Kurly online grocery shopping and delivery service, launched its own payment service dubbed “Kurly Pay” with card company BC Card.
The service is instantly available to customers who register a payment system via credit card, debit card or bank deposit.
The service was developed by Kurly’s affiliate Kurly Pay.
The e-commerce operator stated that it formulated an independent security system without outsourcing the system to third parties to reinforce security and protect customers’ private information.
Kurly Pay will implement a pay-in-advance system by the latter half of this year.
The company also issued a private label credit card (PLCC), Kurly Card, that can be exclusively used on the app, which Kurly released in collaboration with BC Card.
A PLCC is a credit card designed with benefits and rewards from a specific brand.
Based on Kurly’s signature color purple, five types of Kurly Card designs were rolled out. Card registration is available both on the Kurly app and the website.
By registering Kurly Card to Kurly Pay, consumers can benefit by accumulating a maximum of 12 percent of their purchases in points. Five percent of a purchase will be automatically accumulated in points when using Kurly Card, while a further seven percent of point accumulation depends on the membership level.
With the release of Kurly Card, consumers who make their first purchase of more than 31,000 won ($23.51) can get an instant discount of 30,000 won on their purchase until May 31. Two 20 percent discount coupons, which may be applied to any purchase, and a 10,000 won discount coupon for beauty brands will also be given to consumers who make a purchase with Kurly Card.
“We released Kurly Pay to service Kurly consumers with distinctive and safe shopping experiences,” said Kurly’s Chief Financial Officer and CEO of Kurly Pay Kim Jong-hoon. “We anticipate that consumers will frequently use the service which offers drastic discount benefits when used with Kurly Card.”
