Paris Baguette, New York City and the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (Amcham) signed a memorandum of understanding to stimulate economic growth by providing internships for New Yorkers and supporting minority and women-owned businesses.

A six-week internship program at Paris Baguette includes hands-on training and classroom instruction on food production in either baking or cake decoration. The program will conclude with possible job offers or other opportunities for continued career development.

“This agreement with Paris Baguette will help create jobs and opportunity throughout the five boroughs, support the creation of youth internships that will build career skills and job readiness, and develop a food donation program for New Yorkers in need across our city,” said New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Paris Baguette will also donate food to communities in need across the five boroughs in New York.

“At Paris Baguette, we’re proud of our standing as a pillar of business and community in the neighborhoods we serve,” said Paris Baguette North America’s Chief Strategy Officer Hur Jin-soo. “Through this partnership with New York City and Amcham to support women and minorities, we’re furthering our commitment to create opportunities that strengthen our economy and support future business leaders.”

Amcham Chairman James Kim stated that the partnership “is a symbol of the incredible synergy between the U.S. and Korea.”

Paris Baguette, the bakery franchise run by SPC Group, entered the U.S. market in 2005 and has 130 branches in the country, including over 30 branches in New York.
