The Seoul SK Knights grabbed their second consecutive win against the Changwon LG Sakers in the second leg of the five-game 2022-23 KBL playoffs at Changwon Gymnasium in Changwon, South Gyeongsang on Sunday, putting themselves just one win away from advancing to the championship series.

The Knights landed in the second playoff series after finishing the regular season in third and beating the Jeonju KCC Egis three times in a row in the first playoff series.

The Sakers, on the other hand, reached the second playoff series after ending the season as runners-up — KBL rules stipulate that the two teams to finish in first and second directly advance to the second playoff, while the No. 3 to No. 6 teams have to play in the first playoff in order to advance.

The Knights had won the first leg of the second playoffs 73-68 on Friday at Changwon Gymnasium and were looking to ride that momentum on Sunday.

The capital side started the game on the right foot, grabbing the first quarter 24-22. The game became more intense, with the Sakers bouncing back to make it 46-43 at the end of the second quarter.

The Sakers then held onto that lead and managed to take the third quarter, 71-64.

The last quarter was even more fierce with the Knights going all out to secure the win.

It was neck-and-neck until the last minute, but Leon Williams scored a crucial two points for the Knights with a buzzer-beater dunk 0.6 seconds before the final whistle, ultimately managing the team’s second consecutive victory over the Sakers, 92-91.

The Knights need just one more win to advance to the championship, where they will face either Anyang KGC or the Goyang Carrot Jumpers.

The Knights’ third game against the Sakers will take place at Jamsil Students' Gymnasium in Songpa District, western Seoul on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
