Seventeen sells over 3.99 million copies of album 'FML' on first day of release

Seventeen sold over 3.99 million copies of “FML” on the first day of its release, making it the most-sold album on the first day of release, announced the boy band’s agency Pledis Entertainment on Tuesday.
Seventeen also became the only artist in Korea to have sold over 3 million albums on the first day of release.
“FML” is receiving positive feedback online, with “Super,” one of the two lead tracks, landing at No. 1 on music streaming service Melon and Bugs’ real-time streaming charts, and on iTunes Top Song chart in some 36 countries as of Tuesday.
With album prices ranging from 11,500 won ($8.60) to 21,000 won, depending on the four different types of albums available, the total album sale revenue for the first day is estimated at around 60 billion won.
"FML" is a six-track album that was released on Monday at 6 p.m., and the first new music from the band in just five months since its Japanese EP "Dream" released last November. It includes the double lead track "Super," along with tracks "Fire," "I don't Understand But I Luv U," "Dust" and "April Shower."
Member Woozi once again took the lead in producing the songs, joined by bandmates S.Coups, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon and Dino, who took part in either writing the lyrics or composing the music for the songs.
Thirteen-member boy band Seventeen which debuted in 2015 is known for its hit tracks “Very Nice” (2016), “Pretty U” (2016), “Left & Right” (2020), “HOT” (2022) and more. Seventeen BSS, the boy band’s three-member subunit most recently released single “Second Wind” with lead track “Fighting.” (2023).
