International representatives of Primor, Vinhos Norte, Cutipol and Arch Valadares were in the Korean capital city on April 26, to promote the quality and diversity of the Portuguese market. The action took place as part of the Portugal Premium Experience, a project included in the Next Challenge Asia and developed by the Associação Empresarial de Portugal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AEP).
AEP is a national multi-sectorial business association, with the status of Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since its foundation on May 3, 1849, it has existed to defend Portuguese companies in their efforts to grow and modernize.
The purpose of the visit to Seoul was to strengthen the internationalization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the agri-food, home and construction materials sectors and, simultaneously, to strengthen the image of the brands in the Asian market and increase exports.
Representing the agri-food and beverage sectors were Artur Rocha and Vera Lima, respectively, director of international business at Primor and responsible for sales, marketing and communication at Vinhos Norte. Simultaneously, João Pedro Ribeiro, Cutipol's operations manager, and David Iguaz, Arch Valadares' export manager, went on stage to talk about the home and construction materials sector.
The opening session of the event was led by Susana Vaz Patto, Portugal's ambassador in Seoul, while Oriana Noronha, AEP's project manager, was responsible for the closing session.
The program also included a presentation of the macroeconomic framework and bilateral relations by Aicep, by Joana Barros, and several networking opportunities among participants, associations, and the Portuguese delegation.
The Next Challenge Asia project is co-financed by Compete 2020, Portugal 2020 and the European Union, through Fonds Européen de Développement Économique et Régional. The main objective is to promote knowledge, training of SMEs and communication with the markets of Japan, Korea and China.
