Boy band Kingdom was named the honorary ambassador for teen help hotline Cyber 1388, according to GF Entertainment on Wednesday.

Cyber 1388 is a counseling service run by the Gyeonggi Youth Cyber Counseling Center, managed by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and commissioned by the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute. It provides online and phone counseling to young adults regarding family issues, friendships, education, addiction, career paths, physical and mental health and more.

“We aim to make Cyber 1388 more approachable to the youth in Gyeonggi by appointing Kingdom as our honorary ambassador,” the center stated during an appointment ceremony held the same day.

Kingdom is the service’s 11th honorary ambassador, following boy band Monsta X which had held the title since 2017.

For the next two years, Kingdom will appear in posters and videos to promote Cyber 1388.

“We are happy to become a messenger for a counseling service that teens can call when they are going through any hardships,” the band’s leader Dann said.

Kingdom debuted in 2021 and consists of seven members: Dann, Arthur, Mujin, Louis, Ivan, Hwon and Jahan. The band revolves around a fictional universe in which each of the seven members of the band are kings, inspired by legends from around the world.
