The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) opened its Seoul branch in November 2013 and for the past decade has seen over 10 million visitors. To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the MMCA said Monday that it is holding a festival throughout the year in which anyone can participate.

“MMCA Seoul lOth Festival" will begin with "plogging," meaning picking up trash and litter while jogging, a seminar on art films and an outdoor movie screening on May 31.

The plogging event begins at 3 p.m. at the MMCA Seoul branch in Jongno District, central Seoul, and will tour hotspots nearby including the Blue House, Gyeongbok Palace, Gwanghwamun Plaza and the Bukchon neighborhood.

“Dilili in Paris” (2018) will be screened outdoors.

Reservations are required via the MMCA’s website (mmca.go.kr) and tickets are 20,000 won ($15) per person. The admission fees will be donated to art therapy sessions for underprivileged children.

On Sept. 6, the MMCA will host flea markets for food, plants and art books, and on Nov. 10 to 11 there will be special performances that will be specified at a later date.
