SHINee celebrates 15th anniversary of its debut with meet and greet

Boy band SHINee celebrated the 15th anniversary of its debut with a meet and greet.

It marked the first of such events for the band in four years and eight months.

"My heart started feeling a way I truly can't describe as soon as I started hearing the fans shout," member Onew said on Sunday, adding that he burst into tears during Saturday's performance.

The meet and greet, titled "2023 SHINee Fanmeeting 'Everyday is SHINee Day,'" was held in Jamsil Arena in southern Seoul.

SHINee debuted in May 2008 with "Replay" and has been one of the most beloved bands in K-pop with songs that appeal to both fans and the general public, such as "Ring Ding Dong" (2009), "Lucifer" (2010), "Sherlock" (2012) and "Dream Girl" (2013).

Band members started releasing solo music from 2014, starting with Taemin and followed by others who either started their solo music careers or acting careers.

The four members — Onew, Taemin, Key and Minho — performed some of the band's best hits as well as took part in a candid talk session.

"I think every day I spent as SHINee, I shined," member Taemin said to fans on Sunday. "SHINee means to shine and you have been the reason we could shine. And we want to make every other day shine, too."

The band promised concerts and an album this year, although dates were not revealed.

A pop-up store named "The Moment of Shine" opened in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul, to celebrate SHINee's 15th anniversary. It will be open until June 14.
