Reactor ready to go online
The fourth and last reactor of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates, which Korean companies built, entered the preparation phase for commercial operation, the Korea Electric Power Corp. (Kepco) said Friday. It is the last of the four reactors built at the plant under a $20 billion project won by a Kepco-led consortium in 2009, which marked Korea's first nuclear export. The third unit began commercial operation in February. [KEPCO]
