Police on Wednesday found the bodies of two infants that were kept in a fridge at an apartment in southern Gyeonggi.
The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police took the 30-something-year-old mother of the two dead infants into custody, suspecting she killed her children right after giving birth to each of them in November 2018 and November 2019.
She kept the dead bodies in the fridge at an apartment in Suwon, according to police.
The arrest came after the Suwon city government told the police that the woman had a record of giving birth but no records of registering the infants’ births.
The woman has reportedly told the police that she committed the crime due to her poor financial status.
Police will request a warrant to officially arrest the woman.
