'Mission: Impossible' 7 takes top box office spot in Korea

"Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One" took the number one spot at the box office over the weekend, drawing 1.2 million moviegoers over the weekend.
"Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One" topped the weekend box office and recorded a cumulative 1.76 million audiences as of Sunday, according to the film's distributor Lotte Entertainment, based upon the integrated computer network of ticket sales of the Korean Film Council. The film opened in domestic theaters on Wednesday.
"Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One" tells the story of Impossible Mission Force (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, who must stop a powerful artificial intelligence technology from falling into the wrong hands.
The film also features Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Vanessa Kirby, who all starred in the previous "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" (2018). Actor Henry Czerny who played the role of a director of the IMF in the first installment back in 1996 will also make a return to the series alongside Hayley Atwell and Pom Klementieff, who will make their first appearances in the franchise.
Pixar Studios' animation film "Elemental" followed "Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One" at second place with 612,000 moviegoers. "My Love," a 2021 Taiwanese romantic comedy that reopened this year, took third place with 52,000. "The Roundup: No Way Out" and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" took fourth and fifth place.
