DeepL introduced a paid subscription service for its artificial intelligence-powered machine translator, DeepL Pro, in Korea, after the company first began to offer Korean translation in January.

The Cologne, Germany-based machine translation startup on Thursday said that its DeepL Pro can translate Korean into more than 30 languages with improved security features and unlimited access.

DeepL, founded in 2017, is known for its strong performance in understanding the context of inputted language and therefore can produce comparatively more natural-sounding results in the translation target language.

The DeepL Pro subscription plan is available in the United States, Singapore, Japan and the European Union.

“Since our release of the Korean language in January, we've been honored by the warm welcome and positive feedback we’ve received from users and companies,” DeepL CEO and founder Jaroslaw Kutylowski said, adding, “I am thrilled that we can now empower Korean businesses to improve communication and to reach new markets and customers.”
