“Concrete Utopia,” starring Lee Byung-hun, will participate in the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month, distributor Lotte Entertainment confirmed Thursday.

“Concrete Utopia” has been invited to the Gala Presentation section at the TIFF, which will be held between Sept. 7 to 17 in Toronto

The main cast and director Um Tae-hwa will participate in the In Conversation With... series of the TIFF, a talk event connecting audiences with artists.

"Concrete Utopia" has also been selected as Korea's entry to the 96th Academy Awards to compete in the Best International Feature Film category. The film received a unanimous vote by the jury at the Korean Film Council to be chosen as the entry.

“Concrete Utopia” is about the residents of a fictional Imperial Palace Apartment, the only building not destroyed by a disastrous earthquake that devastated most of Seoul. Park Seo-jun and Park Bo-young also star in the film.

“Concrete Utopia,” released in Korea on Aug. 9, has so far attracted more than two million moviegoers, according to Lotte Entertainment.
