PGA Tour launches official channel on Samsung TV Plus for round-the-clock golf programming

The PGA Tour and Samsung Electronics announced a partnership Wednesday that allows golf fans in Korea, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and India to watch the PGA through Samsung TV Plus.

Through the partnership, the PGA has launched an official PGA Tour channel on Samsung TV Plus, a free ad-supported TV (FAST) service available on Samsung TVs. The service is also available on supported Samsung mobile and tablet devices.

A range of PGA Tour content will be available on the channel with round-the-clock programming, including PGA Tour Originals such as Tiger Tracks and Tiger Tales, original films, round and tournament recaps and Tour player profiles.

“We are excited to partner with Samsung TV Plus as we further engage with audiences in new and unique ways,” Thierry Pascal, PGA Tour senior vice president, international media, said in a statement released on Thursday. “The PGA Tour’s FAST channel offers a robust catalog of original programming that will help meet our fans’ demand for rich, compelling golf content whilst complementing our international media partners in these markets.”

The new PGA Tour channel joins over 2,300 live channels and thousands of on-demand movies and TV shows already available on the Samsung service.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the PGA Tour, one of sport’s most iconic brands, to launch their new FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus,” Jennifer Batty, Samsung TV Plus European head of content acquisition, said in a statement. “This channel perfectly demonstrates FAST’s additive capabilities within sports broadcasting; providing content in and around the world’s greatest sporting competitions to give fans a 360-viewing experience like never before.”

The PGA Tour is home to a number of Korea’s top golfers, including Im Sung-jae, Tom Kim, also known as Kim Joo-hyung, Kim Si-woo and Lee Kyoung-hoon.
PGA Tour fans in Korea can also watch all PGA events live on JTBC Golf and Sports.
