BTS's V sold 2.1 million copies of his first album "Layover" within the first week of release, the highest ever for a K-pop solo singer.

V sold 2,101,974 copies of his official solo EP between Sept. 8 and 14, the highest for any solo K-pop singer, according to V's agency BigHit Music.

The second highest is Jimin, also a BTS member, who sold 1.45 million copies of his album "Face," followed by Suga, who sold 1.28 million copies of his album "D-Day."

V had already broken the record on the first day of the album's release on Sept. 8, selling 1.67 million copies of the EP on the day of the release.

The album topped the iTunes Top Album charts in 65 regions around the world on Friday, and the lead track "Slow Dancing" topped the iTunes Top Song chart in 75 regions worldwide.

The album also landed atop Japan's Oricon Daily Album Ranking chart a day after its release, selling 221,491 copies in the country.
