Hyundai 'art cars' promoting Busan set for New York

A fleet of 20 Hyundai Motor Group art cars promoting Busan is headed to New York City as the UN General Assembly begins there on Monday. 
 
It's the company's latest push for the Korean city to host the World Expo in 2030. Saudi Arabia's Riyadh and Italy's Rome are also in the running, and final voting is scheduled for late November.

Hyundai decorated Ioniq 5s, Ionniq 6s and Genesis electric G80s with printings symbolizing the city of Busan and a phrase, "Busan is Ready." Painted with colorful designs by Korean graffiti artist JAY FLOW, the cars will be displayed at an exhibition hall and in Times Square, according to a press release.

The art cars also drove around in Jakarta during the Asean summit, and New Delhi during the Group of 20 summit. Both summits took place earlier this month. 

 
Hyundai formed a task force specializing in promotion in August 2021, the first of any Korean conglomerates to do so.
