Novo Nordisk Pharma debuts smart sensor for insulin pens

Novo Nordisk Pharma introduced its Mallya Smart Sensor at the Digital Healthcare Forum of Korea Digital Future Innovation Exhibition 2023, the Danish pharmaceutical company said Monday.
 
The Mallya Smart Sensor is connected to conventional insulin pens to automatically collect and log daily insulin injection data through a mobile app.

“We believe that convergence of medicine, medical technology and healthcare software can make a significant impact on the lives of patients,” said Sasha Semienchuk, general manager of Novo Nordisk Pharma Korea, adding that “we will try our best to support as many patients as possible in close collaboration with Korean players.”
 
In August, Novo Nordisk signed a memorandum of understanding with Kakao Healthcare to jointly provide a digital healthcare service for diabetes patients.  
 
Mette Kierkgaard, Danish Minister for Senior Citizens, paid a visit to Novo Nordisk’s booth during her three-day visit to Korea on Monday.
 
The Korea Digital Future Innovation Exhibition 2023 runs for three days until Wednesday at COEX in southern Seoul.
