'Because I Hate Korea'

The organizers of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) hold a press conference for “Because I Hate Korea,” the opening film of this year’s edition, at the Busan Cinema Center on Wednesday. They addressed the administrative issues that plagued the festival in the months leading up to the festival. The organizers, including head programmer Nam Dong-cheol, promised that this, the 28th edition, would live up to BIFF's reputation and explained that “Because I Hate Korea” was selected as the opening film because of the sociopolitical meaning it carries for the young Korean people of today.
