I was harassed by woman claiming to be ex-fiancé’s mother, says Olympian

Olympian Nam Hyun-hee has reported a woman claiming to be Jeon Cheong-jo’s mother to the police for bombarding her with phone calls and text messages.

Seongnam Jungwon Police on Tuesday said the 42-year-old Nam called the police at 11: 50 p.m. Monday to report the calls from a woman claiming to be her former fiancé’s mother.

The police said they confirmed 20 calls and messages were sent since Monday afternoon.

However, the police said they have not confirmed if the caller was indeed Jeon’s mother.

The police added that if the calls made to the Olympian indeed came from Jeon’s mother, the woman could face criminal charges for stalking.

In a separate incident, the police were dispatched to the apartment belonging to Nam’s mother in Seongnam at 3 a.m. on Tuesday after a reported household disturbance between the Olympian and her cousin.

The two reportedly fought over financial matters caused by Jeon’s bodyguard, who was in a relationship with the cousin’s daughter.
