Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung was named Industry Leader in the 2023 Automotive News All-Stars awards.
Chung was given the most prestigious honor among 38 key figures within the global automotive industry who were included in the 2023 All-Stars list, which the U.S. magazine announced on Sunday.
“These days, the massive motor group — with its stable of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands — has blossomed into an industry innovator,” Automotive News said. “Under Executive Chair Euisun Chung, the juggernaut is putting the 'new' in new mobility with global leadership in a slew of tomorrow's technologies.”
For the last four decades, the Automotive News All-Stars list has honored visionary figures who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to the mobility industry.
“I’d like to thank the Automotive News team for this special award — it is an honor to be named the 2023 All-Stars Industry Leader,” said Chung. “This award is in recognition of the entire Hyundai Motor Group family and partners all around the world who have worked so hard and devoted themselves to making sure that we achieve our vision of smart, sustainable mobility and progress for humanity."
Ford Motor Chairman Bill Ford received the All-Stars Industry Leader title in 2020. The title was awarded to General Motors CEO Mary Barra in 2018 and to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Segio Marchionne in 2014.
