Five-star luxury lifestyle hotel Andaz Seoul Gangnam in southern Seoul opened a new modern Korean dining restaurant Jogakbo Kitchen on Friday.

The space has been rebranded from its previous restaurant, Seafood and Grill.

Based on the brand's philosophy that the only true way to experience a destination is by immersing oneself in it with all their senses, Jogakbo Kitchen says it aims to reinterpret the traditional flavors of Korean cuisine.

Lunches (45,000 won, or $34) are served on a wooden tray with grilled dishes such as premium beef flank, bulgogi and chili-marinated salmon served in an earthenware pot, accompanied by Korean soup and a dessert.

Dinners (85,000 won) are prepared on a Korean traditional set table called juansang. Dishes including yukhoe (Korean beef tartar), sea bream tartare with chips, galbijjim (braised short ribs) and Jeju black pork will be available.

Its signature dishes are yukhoe and galbijjim, according to Andaz. Yukhoe features the finest Korean beef, seasoned with cactus salt, and served tableside. The galbijjim uses soy sauce that was aged for 1,000 days, and is then marinated in soy sauce for a thousand days and slow-cooked for 48 hours, the hotel says.

Guests may also opt for a pairing menu consisting of four drinks or enjoy unlimited beverages.

"We are looking to offer guests a new culinary experience through a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation," said Damien Selme, the executive chef of Andaz Seoul Gangnam. "We hope guests can discover the unique charm of familiar Korean cuisine."

Jogakbo Kitchen is located on the second floor of the hotel and operates from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. during lunches and from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. during dinners.
