NewJeans, Seventeen, ZeroBaseOne and other hot and trending K-pop artists will be performing at the upcoming 38th Golden Disc Awards, which is set to be held at Jakarta International Stadium in Indonesia on Jan. 6.

The first set of performers for the 38th Golden Disc Awards, announced Tuesday, included girl groups NewJeans and STAYC, alongside boy bands Seventeen, Stray Kids, Enhypen and ZeroBaseOne — bands that all had a great year in 2023.

NewJeans, nominated for Digital Song of the Year with "Ditto" (2022), will be joining the 38th Golden Disc Awards for the second time, followed by Seventeen, who recently dropped its 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven."

The album sold more than five million copies in the first week of its release, making Seventeen the K-pop artist with the highest first-week album sales and the only K-pop artist who sold more than 5 million albums in the first week of the album release.

Seventeen has been nominated for Digital Song of the Year with "Super" and the Album of the Year with "FML."

Stray Kids and Enhypen, who also had a successful year in 2023, will be performing at the awards ceremony. Stray Kids hit its career-high with its third full-length album "5-STAR" in June, followed by "Lalalala" landing on Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in November. Enhypen, too, dropped two albums "Dark Blood" and "Orange Blood" this year.

Both Enhypen and Stray Kids have received nominations for Album of the Year.

STAYC will also return to the Golden Disc Awards for the first time in two years. The girl group has been nominated for Digital Song of the Year with its February release "Teddy Bear."

ZeroBaseOne, who broke the record for the most-sold K-pop debut album in the first week of its release with "Youth in the Shade," will also attend and perform at the Golden Disc Awards for the first time.

The band is competing for Album of the Year with its debut album, "Youth in the Shade," and for Rookie Artist of the Year.

The Golden Disc Awards, which the JoongAng Group hosts, are considered one of Korea's most prestigious music awards, with its unique format where dozens of nominees and multiple winners are chosen for three main categories — music, album and rookie of the year.

Twenty artists have been nominated for Album of the Year and Digital Song of the Year, and 10 artists have been nominated for Rookie Artist of the Year.

Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo and singer Sung Si-kyung will host the event. This is Sung's eighth time hosting the Golden Disc Awards and Cha's first. Cha won Best Performance as a member of boy band Astro at the 34th Golden Disc Awards.

More artists will be attending the 38th Golden Disc Awards.
