Following the release of Tesla’s latest models, which have been well received due to their reasonable price and hefty subsidy, EV companies are now gearing up for a market share battle.

Volvo has attracted customers by releasing a premium electric SUV, the EX30, which is eligible for 100 percent of the EV subsidy.

Alongside its affordable price in the 40 million won range ($30,600), EX30’s demonstrated its competitiveness by earning nominations in all three prestigious global car awards: 2024 The Car of the Year, 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year and 2024 World Car of The Year.

EX30, developed to meet the popularization trend of premium EVs, offers spacious family seating and advanced safety features. With Volvo's Safe Space Technology, this SUV ensures safety for up to five passengers.

The model has been introduced with three notable features: the Driver Alert System senses the driver's motions through the IR sensor on the steering wheel, the Park Pilot Assist enables automatic parking with a simple touch on the 3D interface screen, and the door opening alert looks to prevent accidents with bikes, motorcycles, and electric scooters by triggering visual and audio alerts inside the vehicle upon detecting their approach.

Once the vehicle is fully charged, it can run for 475 kilometers (295 miles), providing a good option for drivers covering extended distances.

EX30 has been released in two trims, Core and Ultra, depending on the body color, exterior design, seat memory function, camera and audio system.

Various options are available for general parts warranty and consumables replacement services. These options encompass coverage for up to five years or under 100,000 km mileage, an eight-year/160,000 km warranty specifically for the high-voltage battery, 15 years of complimentary support for over-the-air (OTA) wireless updates, a five-year subscription to the digital service package, and additional benefits.
