Tromm Styler and Tromm Dryer products, as well as its electric vehicle (EV) battery and organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology were among LG's key products in 2023.

LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo highlighted those segments in a New Year's video message delivered to LG employees in which the executive emphasized “differentiated customer value.”

“We need to focus on 'differentiated value' in order to step up as an innovative company that offers the best customer experience in order to take a lead in a market where every company is competing fiercely to survive,” Koo said in the message.

“Differentiated customer value refers to a level beyond just being different from others, but becoming a new synonym in people's lives.”

LG Electronics' Tromm Styler, a steam cleaner for clothing, and Tromm Dryer, a clothes dryer, have become staples of people's clothing management, while LG Energy Solution's EV batteries helped to usher an era of environmentally friendly cars, Koo said. OLED panels, he added, took people's visual experience to another level.

“Values that we are planning to make in the future should go beyond customers' expectations and give inspiration that can wow them while paving ways for a new living culture that has never existed before,” Koo said.

“I hope 2024 will be the year where differentiated value inspires our customers, leading to more love toward our company, which will act as our confidence.”

LG Electronics had a stellar 2023, posting its second-highest profit in its history — 996.7 billion won ($767 million) — in the third quarter which is a 33.5 percent on-year jump.
