Seoul shares open higher thanks to Wall Street gains

Shares opened higher Tuesday, tracking overnight gains on Wall Street.
The Kospi added 18.64 points, or 0.73 percent, to reach 2,586.46 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 0.58 percent overnight, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq jumped 2.2 percent.
In Seoul, most large caps traded higher across the board.
Samsung Electronics gained 0.26 percent, with SK hynix surging 1.76 percent.
LG Chem advanced 0.73 percent, while Naver spiked 1.99 percent.
Hyundai Motor added 0.32 percent, while Kia slipped 0.34 percent.
The local currency traded at 1,310.70 won against the dollar, down 5.30 won from the previous session's close.
