Fresh eggs are displayed at a cashierless egg store in Dongdaemun District, eastern Seoul, on Monday. Egg prices rose by around 14 percent over a month after the outbreak of a highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI). The eggs sold at the cashierless store are cheaper due to the cut in labor costs, amounting to around 60 to 70 percent of supermarket prices. The egg shops have also been praised by customers for selling a wide variety of eggs, including eggs of various sizes and free-range eggs. [YONHAP]
