The startup Maiden Voyage will be offering mock Topik tests for international students at The Catholic University of Korea.

Maiden Voyage signed a memorandum of understanding with the university to offer mock tests to its students five times a year, according to the startup on Thursday.

Mock tests will be offered offline at the university classrooms to mimick an actual test setting.

Maiden Voyage, a startup founded in 2022, creates practice tests for Topik takers. It has been offering mock tests at universities such as the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Daegu Catholic University, Incheon National University in a trial run last year, although it hadn't signed an agreement to regularly offer the test to universities.

"We also went through a trial run with students at The Catholic University of Korea, and the university thought that our tests had high credibility and we were able to continue to offer the mock tests to students," a spokesperson for Maiden Voyage said. "We expect the mock tests to help more international students get Topik certifications."

The startup will also analyze mock test results of The Catholic University of Korea students, providing results to the university so it can find ways to improve the students' test scores.

Those who aren't attending The Catholic University of Korea can also take the mock tests online, although users will have to pay a fee.

"We are delighted to be offering on-site mock tests, thanks to The Catholic University of Korea's assistance," Lee Won-hee, CEO of Maiden Voyage, said. "We plan to grow with the university as we continue to develop quality mock tests, also trying our best to expand into the overseas market."
