Got7’s Youngjae and Sublime Artist Agency have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with the company, the agency said Wednesday.
“After long discussions on the singer’s future activities, the company and Got7’s Youngjae decided to respect each other’s opinions and mutually agreed to terminate the exclusive contract with the company,” Sublime Artist Agency said in a press release.
Youngjae signed with the label in January 2021 after GOT7’s contract with JYP Entertainment expired. He continued his band activities with GOT7 under Warner Music Korea and released music as a solo artist with Sublime Artist Agency.
The agency thanked the singer for his time with the company and his fans for their support. Youngjae’s next label was not confirmed by the agency.
The singer debuted as a member of GOT7 in 2014 under JYP Entertainment. The seven-member band is known for hits including “If You Do,” (2015), “Hard Carry,” (2016), “Just Right” (2016) and “Call My Name” (2019).
He launched his solo career with his first EP, “Colors from Ars,” in October 2021 and most recently dropped his first full-length album, “Do It,” in November last year.
