Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok talks about his committed determination, along with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul, to bring the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to his city, at the Foreign Ministry in central Seoul on Monday.

Yoo stressed that the port city perfectly fits the three main pillars of the APEC: trade and investment, innovation and digital economy and inclusive and sustainable development.

He said hosting the APEC summit in Incheon would provide the city an opportunity to “leap forward to become one of the world’s top 10 cities.”

The Foreign Ministry will select the host city in June after completing due diligence in May, based upon local governments' applications.
