Shein to open pop-up store in Seongsu-dong this week

Chinese fast fashion giant Shein will open a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, western Seoul, this week as the e-commerce platform aims to expand its brand recognition and presence in the Korean market.
The fashion retailer uploaded a hiring notice for a store manager and brand models for its pop-up store on domestic recruitment website Shopma. According to the notice, the employees will be required to work from July 6 to 14 at the store.
The launch of the offline event comes around 20 days after Shein formalized its entry into the Korean market on June 20 with the appointment of actor Kim Yoo-jung as its first global ambassador for its sub-brand, Daisy. The Chinese firm established a Korean subsidiary in December 2022, started social media marketing from last August and launched a Korean website in April.
In addition to selling clothes, an event zone will be prepared at the Shein pop-up store, according to the local recruitment notice.
