Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer Maserati has launched a sales unit in Korea, the company said Wednesday, while announcing a plan to release new models in the country each month until the end of the year.

Maserati Korea held a ceremony in Seoul to celebrate its launch, expressing its commitment to strengthening its presence in the Korean market. Previously, the Italian automaker has sold its vehicles through importer and distributor Forza Motors Korea since 2007.

The company said the decision to establish a local unit was reached to solidify the brand's position in Korea, noting the market's high appreciation for Italian luxury goods.

Maserati Korea plans to introduce new models in the country each month until the end of this year. At the event, Maserati unveiled its latest GranTurismo and GranCabrio models for the first time in Korea.
