Korean record holder Ji Yu-chan misses 50m freestyle semifinal

Korea's Ji Yu-chan failed to make the semifinals of the men's 50-meter freestyle after coming last in his qualifying heat at the Paris Olympics on Thursday.
Ji, 21, swam in Heat No. 9 and finished with a time of 22.16 seconds to finish in last place in the eight-man race.
The top 16 swimmers from 10 qualifying heats made the semifinals.
Ji, the Korean record holder in the discipline with a time of 21.72 seconds, is the only Korean man to have notched a time below the 22-second mark.
The 50-meter freestyle was Ji's only individual event at Paris La Defense Arena in Nanterre, France.
