Korean diver Kim Na-hyun failed to qualify for the semifinals of the women’s 10-meter platform at the Paris Olympics after finishing the preliminary round in 26th place out of 29 with a score of 250 on Monday.
She needed a top-18 finish at the Aquatics Centre in Saint-Denis, France to reach the next stage, but fell behind most other competitors.
Diving events are contested on a high-dive platform, with divers scoring points based on techniques and difficulty.
Kim pulled off five techniques — back two and a half somersaults, forward three and a half somersaults, inward two and a half somersaults, reverse two and a half somersaults and back two and a half somersaults one and a half twists in order — adding up to 250 points.
Maia Biginelli of Italy was the last one to qualify for the semifinals after finishing in 18th with 277.
