President Yoon Suk Yeol returned to Seoul Sunday, wrapping up a four-day official visit to the Czech Republic that focused on building a nuclear energy alliance and strengthening economic cooperation with the Central European nation.
Yoon and first lady Kim Keon Hee arrived at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, at around 6 a.m. and were greeted by presidential aides and conservative People Power Party (PPP) Chairman Han Dong-hoon.
On Thursday, Yoon held a bilateral summit with Czech President Petr Pavel in Prague and held talks with Prime Minister Petr Fiala the following day. He attended a business forum that included leaders of Korea's top conglomerates and also visited Doosan Skoda Power in Plzen alongside Fiala.
During Yoon's official visit, Korea and the Czech Republic signed a total of 56 memorandums of understanding covering various sectors including nuclear energy cooperation.
The visit came after the Czech government named a consortium led by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power as preferred bidder for a major nuclear power plant project in Dukovany in July.
