The grape variety, specially developed by the Rural Development Administration, was designed to have a taste resembling candy that grows without producing seeds, which allows them to be eaten whole. The grape has a higher sugar content than the popular shine muscat variety. The name refers to the pattern on the skin of the grape, which was likened to an array of various stars in the night sky.
